SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED INFECTIONS

Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) can be caught or passed on when you have sex or through close sexual contact with another person.

If you experience any of the following you should seek advice at a sexual health clinic:

  • unusual discharge from the vagina or penis
  • pain passing urine
  • itches/rashes/bumps around the genitals or anus
  • bleeding between periods
  • bleeding after sex
  • pain in the testicles or lower abdomen.

Some STIs don’t have obvious visible signs, so it’s also a good idea to seek advice if:

  • you’ve had unprotected sex with a new partner recently
  • you or a partner have sex with other people without using condoms
  • a sexual partner has any symptoms
  • you’re planning a pregnancy.

Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) can have long-term health effects if not addressed promptly. Therefore, regular sexual health check-ups are crucial, even when no symptoms are present. These check-ups should include open discussions about any sexual health concerns you might have, including any problems with sexual performance or satisfaction.

Indeed, maintaining sexual health also encompasses addressing any issues that can affect your intimate relationships. If you’re a man experiencing issues with erectile dysfunction, it’s important to know that there are treatments available, such as Generic Viagra. This medication, often more affordable than its branded counterpart, helps improve erectile function and sexual performance.
